Do I need an appointment to try on dresses?An appointment is essential to try on dresses, though this can easily be arranged even hours (or minutes?) before the visit, subject to availability.

Is there a charge to try on dresses?There is no charge for appointments or try ons at Jean Fox

How many dresses can I try on?There is no limit to the number of dresses you can try on. Your consultant will be happy to help you narrow down your selection until you find ‘the one’! If we run out of time in the appointment we’ll be happy to make as many appointments as you need to complete your search.

What is the price range of dresses in store?The average bridal gown in our boutique costs between $1800 – $2800, although there are gowns from $1295 and some opulent and embellished designs up to $4595.

Who should I bring to my consultation?Bring someone who knows your style, who will give honest and affirming feedback. Most brides limit their number of guests to 2 or 3. You’re always welcome to invite additional family or friends to join via FaceTime!

What sizes do you have available to try?We have gowns in store ranging from size 6 to size 28 to try on. Gowns can be ordered from size 0 to 32.

Is there anything I need to prepare or bring for my consultation?You could perhaps consider bringing some images of gowns that inspire you, or an idea of the sorts of styles you’d like to try. Skin toned underwear is advisable, but otherwise come as you are… ready to enjoy your bridal shopping experience.

How long does it take for my dress to arrive?Delivery time may very between designers, but you can expect your gown to arrive between 4 and 6 months from the date you order… unless you specify a different timing when the order is placed. Please remember to allow time for alterations.

Is there a ‘rush order’ service?If necessary, most of our designers offer a rush order for deliveries. This will be subject to approval by the designer and there is usually an additional cost. We do however offer a large selection of ‘off the rack’ dresses perfect for the short notice wedding!

Can I take photos of dresses in store?We encourage you to limit gown photography to just your favourites, so that you’re not distracted or interrupted in your search to for the perfect gown.

What is the next step once I choose my dress?If your gown is being ordered for you from one of our designers: We will take your bust, waist and hip measurements & discuss sizing against the designers size chart. We then order the agreed size best suited to your measurements. A deposit is payable to secure the order (usually 50% unless agreed otherwise). If your gown is already in stock: Some brides choose to pay in full and take their gown home on the day, but otherwise you’re welcome to pay a 50% deposit and pay the balance over an agreed term.

Will my dress require alterations?In most cases, gowns will require at least a little tweak to ensure the perfect fit on your wedding day… even if its just an adjustment to hem length or a bustle to manage your train for the bridal waltz! We have an excellent ‘preferred alterations service’ nearby, that has been favoured by Jean Fox brides for almost a decade.
